Hello!
The Boys and Girls Club of Missoula County is committed to the health and safety of your family, as well as our entire Missoula community. While Missoula is not experiencing the community spread that other cities are facing, we need to do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 to our neighbors. At the same time, we recognize that the current lack of available childcare is an additional burden being placed on many of you right now.
Next week, starting March 31st, we will be providing Emergency Childcare for families that work in critical occupation areas and 'Essential Business and Operations' sectors, as defined by Governor Bullock's Executive Orders 2-2020 and 3-2020, attached here. In order to protect the health and safety of our kids, families, and Missoula community, we are limiting total enrollment in this program to 24 children and are restricting enrollment to only those families who work in these essential function roles.
Please note as well that if demand exceeds our enrollment capacity, we will be forced to prioritize families who work in one of the following three sectors:
- Healthcare;
- First responders;
- Essential City/County government
We've been working with local healthcare systems, the Missoula YMCA, and the Missoula County Health Department to prepare for these full days of Club. There is a lot of information to cover so please read everything I am sending and direct any questions you have to me afterwards.
The following mandatory requirements are in place effective March 31st:
- Children with fevers of 100.4 degrees F and/or with a consistent cough must be removed from the program. Families must do one of two things before their child returns:
- 7 days with no symptoms (fever and/or cough) without the use of medication OR
- A doctor’s note approving the child’s return to program
- Families who have traveled out of state, out of country, and/or have had out-of-state or international visitors must self-quarantine for 14 days before returning to program.
This is a dynamic situation. We will continue to adapt these measures as needed to keep our children safe.
We encourage everyone to take care of themselves and each other during this unprecedented time. Thank you for your support.
