HAWTHORNE CLUBHOUSE

Hawthorne Elementary School

2835 S 3rd St W, Missoula, MT 59804

Beginning with the 2023-24 After-School Program, our Hawthorne Clubhouse is opening, allowing the Boys & Girls Club of Missoula County to serve kids attending Hawthorne right in their own location!

The Hawthorne Clubhouse provides a home after school for more than 25 young people, ages 5-12, all from the neighborhood school, Hawthorne Elementary. With the Clubhouse located inside the school, our Club staff meet the Club Members at school at the end of the day and then get to stay there for the remainder of the day.

The Hawthorne Clubhouse is led by incredible Club professionals who, in partnership with the school district, students, and families, build a vibrant and engaging Club experience.

For more information on the Hawthorne program, please contact our Director of Programming, Jourdyn Browning, at 406-542-3116 or jourdyn@bgcmissoulacounty.org.

Programs and Activities

Power Hour: Power Hour is where members achieve academic success through homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and which encourage them to become self-directed learners.

Activities: Each of our sites has lots of space for our kids to run and play, to jump rope, throw a ball, or shoot baskets. We also use plenty of arts and crafts supplies to create unique creations and science experiments.

Smartmoves: The SMART (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) Moves program is a nationally acclaimed prevention program where participants will be exposed to various activities designed to hone their decision-making and critical-thinking skills.

Pulse Checks: To make sure our members feel a sense of belonging at Club we are always looking for ways to get youth input. By providing meaningful choices to members, we let them set the direction of our programming, and keep them involved in planning activities they’re interested in. A strong youth voice equals a fun and inclusive environment!
